Round 2 of the Castle Combe Junior Karting Championship took place on Sunday. It was extremely wet, but the drivers coped with the conditions well producing some brilliant racing.
Luke Green lined up on pole position for the final, alongside Round 1 winner Ryan Taylor. Jamie Watson and Jake Holley lined up on row 2, Caspar Chadwick and Leo Causon on Row 3 with Thomas Hughes completing the grid in 7th place.
The track was extremely wet and many of the drivers had spins and incidents during the race, but Luke Green out in front coped brilliantly, keeping it all together and taking a brilliant victory. Jamie Watson pushed Luke hard at the end of the race, but was not close enough to make a move. While Caspar Chadwick had a great drive to take the final spot on the podium in 3rd place. Thomas Hughes came from 7th on the grid to take 4th, with Jake Holley 5th, Ryan Taylor 6th and Leo Causon 7th.
Ben Frankcom was unlucky to be in the B Final, but drove faultlessly to take a dominant victory and set fastest lap of the day. Ellie Biddle started the B Final from 1st and was in a brilliant battle with Dariush Walker for 2nd. They exchanged places many times, but eventually Ellie came out on top to take 2nd with Dariush in 3rd.
The next Championship event takes place on the afternoon of Sunday 1st March, but new drivers can come along and learn from our experienced instructors on the morning of Sunday 1st March.
